EVER TAKEN SOMETHING THAT WASN'T YOURS??
IT'S OFFICIAL.....ST TOTTERINGHAM'S DAY IS CANCELLED!!!
Yes my people after 21 years of hurt and pain Tottenham will FINALLY finish above The Arse !!
And they finally did it by beating them , how poignant and at the penultimate match at White Hart Lane before it is closed for good , how special!!
It was a very emotional day , I saw grown men in tears around me and I include myself in that number! Thank you Paul Sapsford ( Spurs) for the tickets and for putting up with my range of emotions. What great seats just above the Directors and one of my abiding memories was to be able to give that ever popular gooner Piers Morgan ( Arsenal) some stick at the end.....priceless!!
And not only did we win but we won convincingly....if only Chelski had slipped up it would have been a perfect weekend. Coming out of the ground though I realised it was the last time after over thirty years of going there and I wish I had stolen something for the memories....not even a toilet roll! But I did give the old lady a kiss goodbye and I have the picture to prove it attached. Sooooo my QUESTION OF THE WEEK is this one....HAVE YOU EVER TAKEN ANYTHING AWAY FROM YOUR GROUND BEFORE??
Apart from of course your self control and self respect at times over the years. I'm wanting to hear about hallowed pieces of turf still on the mantelpiece at home or even a club toilet seat.
Over to you lot....
Steve " The Judge"
RE: EVER TAKEN SOMETHING THAT WASN'T YOURS??
I remember being at a CFC v Liverpool goalless draw in the late seventies and getting caught up (honest, I was only about 16) in a skirmish in what was then the benches (now lower west) with some away fans that had exposed their true colours after denied a nailed-on penalty.
Getting to the point, one of them dropped their scarf in the ensuing kerfuffle and I grabbed it, thinking it would be a good idea to goad them with it which we duly did, even holding it horizontally and singing " Youll never walk alone " The witty act took a turn for the worse as, when leaving the ground with it around my neck, guess what? I got walloped from behind by a Chelsea fan.
Luckily, I had enough thugs around me that knew what had gone on! I threw it in a bin. All very regrettable and futile but hey ho, football does that to the most sensible of folk You only have to listen Martin Tyler commentate on a Spurs or Chelsea game
RE: EVER TAKEN SOMETHING THAT WASN'T YOURS?? I stole a cheerleaders pom poms back in high school at half time does that count Steve??
RE: EVER TAKEN SOMETHING THAT WASN'T YOURS?? I did steal a sign from the old St James's back in the mid 90's when we developed the new ground . it says Gents and is proudly attached to my netty or toilet as you lot say down here!!
