    A WEEKEND OF FIRSTS!

Well that was a weekend of first's eh?/

And I know we all play a football game folks but can I just mention the golf?? It was the first time an Englishman or to be more PC a Briton has won The Masters since the great Nick Faldo in 1996 !!! That's 20 YEARS AGO!! Just like back in 96 when Greg Norman threw it away, this one will also be remembered for the collapse of then leader Jordan Spieth at Hole No12 ....see picture above ....if look's could kill !!

But my take on it is that Spieth had flirted with danger for many holes , he hardly hit a fairway and always somehow putted his way out of trouble so he had had a lot of luck up until then with lies etc so his luck run out in the end I'm happy to say. It was nowhere near the escapades of a certain Frenchmen on Hole 18 of The Open back in 1999....for all you youngsters out there google Jean Van Der Velde to see a REAL meltdown !

PLUS a final round of 67 in what was very difficult conditions apparently and when few were getting under par should not be forgotten Well Done Mr Willett !!

Another 1st for 15 YEARS was Tottenham Hotspur's first home victory over Man United something I thought i'd ever see again but this United side are a pale comparison to the great sides of old.

And finally by winning at Sunderland yesterday Leicester City have managed to at least qualify for The Champion's League for the 1st time IN THEIR HISTORY!

3 more wins at it will be an even bigger 1st but you never know.....they could still have a Jordan Spieth moment....couldn't they?? QUESTION OF THE WEEK then boys and girls is WHAT'S YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MELTDOWN ???!

RE: A WEEKEND OF FIRSTS! Mate, I thought a slightly more topical question would have been who wasted the biggest opportunity?
Jordon Spieth blowing 6 shots in 3 holes and gifting the Masters
    Or
With Chelsea and the Manchester clubs leaving the door wide open for the first time in 11 seasons, neither of the North London clubs managing to take advantage?

Jordan Spieth will probably be favourite for the Masters next year, what odds the North London boys?

To be fair, Tottenham with a couple of additional top players and in a full 16/17 season would have every chance.. and Arsenal with a new man in charge, a proper striker and a captain, would be dangerous! Luckily, both unlikely! Posted 12th April 2016 - by Simon Fleck M (The Blue Boys!)

RE: A WEEKEND OF FIRSTS! I've just seen the latest standings......Cream always rises the top mate ! Posted 12th April 2016 - by Jon S (Chelski)

RE: A WEEKEND OF FIRSTS! I HAD A MELT DOWN ONCE MAITE .....IN MAGGIES BAR ....IT CAME WITH TUNA I THINK AND SOME TOMATO HA HA HA!! Posted 12th April 2016 - by Rene C (Malmo FF)

RE: A WEEKEND OF FIRSTS! Hi The Judge

Most memorable meltdown has got to be Kevin Keegan while at Newcastle, playing attacking football, running away with the league, then Ferguson questioned if, I think Leeds United put another effort in to a game against Newcastle as they would prefer Newcastle to win the League than Manchester United.

This prompted a fantastic rant by Kevin Keegan live on sky sports, I was watching it in a Pub and everyone's jaw just dropped. To say that Fergie won that mental game is an understatement.
I am sure you would be able to YouTube it. Posted 13th April 2016 - by Chris A (Man United)
